First episode was aired on Channel One Russia on 18 October 2015.[1] Filmings were made in Nizhny Novgorod.

The series centers on Rodion Meglin (Konstantin Khabensky), a detective of the Russian Police who also leads a secret life as a vigilante, hunting down criminals who have slipped through the cracks of the justice system.

Producers have stated that The Method is not an adaptation of the American TV series Dexter, but rather an independent TV show.
