The Killing of a Sacred Deer is an upcoming film directed by Yorgos Lanthimos, from a screenplay by Lanthimos and Efthymis Filippou. It stars Colin Farrell and Nicole Kidman.
Plot
A surgeon forms a familial bond with a sinister teenage boy, with disastrous results.

Production
On May 11, 2016, it was announced that Colin Farrell had been cast in the film, with Yorgos Lanthimos directing from a screenplay he had written with Efthymis Filipou, with Film4 Productions and Element Pictures producing the project.[1] In June 2016, Nicole Kidman joined the cast of the film.[2] In August 2016, Alicia Silverstone, Raffey Cassidy, Barry Keoghan, and Sunny Suljic joined the cast.[3]
Filming
As of August 23, 2016, the film has begun principal photography in Cincinnati at The Christ Hospital where Sydney Williams works.[4] Recently, they are filming the luxurious Hyde Park neighborhood.
Release
In May 2016, A24 acquired U.S distribution rights to the film.[5] That same month, Haut et Court acquired French distribution rights to the film.[6]
