The Box Soho

The Box Soho is a cabaret nightclub located at 11-12 Walker's Court in Soho, London, on the premises formerly occupied by the Raymond Revuebar.[1]

Opening and ownership

Opened on February 9, 2011, it bills itself as a "theatre of varieties" and is a sister club to The Box Manhattan, New York City. The club is owned by Simon Hammerstein, the grandson of lyricist Oscar Hammerstein II.

Performances

Simon Hammerstein describes the club as a place of "mystique, mystery and sexual openness".[2] The club it has been described as "Britain's seediest VIP club" and has gained notoriety for its sexually explicit burlesque and cabaret shows and stage acts.[3] Unusual acts conducted at the club have been reported such as pigs licking food off of strippers' stomachs, unsanctioned orgies and a performer known as "Laqueefa", who apparently can play popular tunes with her genitalia.[4]

Clientele

The clientele includes Royals such as Prince Harry and Zara Phillips and well-known celebrities such as Kate Moss, Jude Law, Julien Macdonald, George Lamb and Mark Ronson and Harry Styles.[3][2][4]
