The games are a tie-in with the 1991 movie, The Addams Family. It was published and developed in 1992 by Ocean Software. It is a platform side-scrolling action game.

Storyline

Tully Alford, the Addams Family attorney, has evicted the clan from their home (based towards the end of the movie) and to make matters worse, Morticia Addams, Pugsley Addams, Wednesday Addams, Granny Addams and Lurch have gone missing. It is up to Gomez Addams to find and save his family, defeat the confused Uncle Fester and face his ultimate goal of kicking Alford out of the Addams' rightful home.

Gameplay

The game is very open-ended, allowing the player to choose which areas to approach. Each area has an end where Gomez faces a boss and/or receives an item. Typically following this, a family member is rescued.
