Tempe is a former train station served by Amtrak's Sunset Limited and Texas Eagle trains. Amtrak service to this station was discontinued in June 1996.

History

The Southern Pacific Railroad built the depot in 1924. The city purchased the building and in 1987 renovated it; the building now houses Macayo's Depot Cantina, a renowned Mexican restaurant. The Sunset Limited and Texas Eagle served this location from the 1987 renovation until 3 June 1996. Valley Metro Rail trains serve a new station one block east of the depot.
