Tarimul is a small village on the banks of Sendhei River in the Kendujhar District of Orissa, India. It lies at a distance of 12 km. from Anandapur, 90 km. from the district headquarters Kendujhar and 160 km. from Bhubaneswar, the state capital.

It is a village within the Ghasipura Block of Anandapur Subdivision. The people of the village are Hindus. Most of the people are farmers, a few work in Government and Private sectors. The majority of youths in the village are engaged in various types of businesses.

The neighbourhood villages are Deogaon, Bhandaridiha, Rekutia, Kantarohi, Khalana.

Places of Interest

TARIMUL is a big village located on the banks of river Sendhei extended from Dhaudiha in the North; Rekutia and Bangarakota in the South; Deogaon and Nuapada in the East and Bhandaridiha in the west. It has a unique place in the culture of the Kendujhar district. Santh Sri Suka Das baba's birthplace and an ideal village in the Locality. The main stay of economy of economy of the village is agriculture. Diary and Fishery also gives the villagers an ancillary scope to earn as there are many ponds in the village. The village has the educational heritage having Primary School established in 1910 along with M.E.School and High School. There are three Anganwari centers in the village. The Kushaleswar Anchalika Mahavidyalaya situated in Tarimul Panchayat is one of the prime educational hobs in the District. Other than the Panchayat Office there is a Homeopathic Dispensary, an ANM center and an LI center in the village.

Culture & Festivals

The village celebrates almost all Hindu Festivals. Tarimul is mostly famous for Festivals like Makar Sankranti, Agira Purnima, Rama Nabami, Kartikeswar Puja, Laxmi Puja, Rahasa Purnima, Ganesh Puja, Dola Purnima, Raja, Holi, Dipavali etc.

Makar Sankrant, Festival of the Village Deity MAA MANGALA observed for two days; people of the village and from neighboring villages especially women keeping fast come to worship and pray to fulfill their Wishes.

Agira Purnia is another big festival which is celebrated for 5 days before the full moon day. All the people from child to old participate in the occasion. Cultural and spiritual programmes are organized by the village committee.

The Khudurukuni Osha is celebrated lavishly with much pump and splendor which attracts large number of spectators even from remote villages.

People of various castes live together depending upon each other. Starting from gathering in the evening for reading the scriptures to the big banquets people of all castes and occupations get united to share the magic irrespective the differences.
