Taranaki cricket team represents the Taranaki Region of New Zealand. It competes in the Hawke Cup.

Taranaki as a representative team played as early as 1877,[1] later first playing first-class cricket in 1883 against Auckland at the Auckland Domain, with their first-class debut ending in a heavy defeat with Taranaki being dismissed for scores of 63 and 55.[2] The team would next appear in first-class cricket nine years later with a fixture against Hawke's Bay. Six further first-class appearances followed, with them appearing in first-class cricket for a final time in 1898 against Canterbury at Bayly Park, Hawera. Taranaki appeared eight times in first-class cricket, winning once, losing six and drawing once.[3] Taranaki played all their home first-class matches at Bayly Park.

Taranaki today competes in the Hawke Cup, which is played below first-class level. The Taranaki Cricket Association is based at the New Plymouth Boys' High School. The Taranaki Cricket Association forms part of the Central Districts cricket team, which competes in first-class, List A and Twenty20 domestic cricket competitions.
