Tamsen Fadal is a Lebanese-American television journalist, 8-time Emmy award winning news anchor and author who is the 5pm, 6pm and 10pm anchor on the PIX11 News, Tribune's flagship station in New York City. Previously, she anchored the PIX11 Morning News in New York City. Fadal is the executive producer and host of the nationally syndicated show, Broadway Profiles. Fadal, is the author of three books, the most recent The New Single , published by St. Martin's Press.

She was awarded 1 Emmy in 2016 for On-Camera Achievement (News Anchor/Host), 3 Emmys in 2015 including one for Breaking News Metro-North Train Derailment, Arts: Program Feature/Segment: Blind on Broadway and Hurricane Sandy Weather Special: Hell and High Water. And in 2014, was awarded 3 Emmys including one for On-Camera Achievement (News Anchor/Host) from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS), Political News Special "Remembering Ed Koch" and Outstanding News Coverage at PIX11 News as well as an Emmy in 2005 for her work as an Investigative Reporter.

Fadal is active in the community. She has been an advocate in the fight against breast cancer with Avon39 working alongside several New York City breast cancer charities after having lost her mother to the disease when she was 20 years old. She serves on the Shining Service Worldwide Advisory Board helping returning women veterans and their children in New York and is co-chair of the Women Who Care luncheon benefiting United Cerebral Palsy of New York City. Fadal works with Best Buddies International, a nonprofit organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

Television career

Fadal began her broadcasting career as a morning anchor for WHNZ Radio in Tampa, Florida shortly after graduating from the University of South Florida in 1992 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism. In 2002, she traveled to Afghanistan with the American troops reporting on the war. She was also sent to Air Force bases in London and Germany to report on local troops during Operation Enduring Freedom. Prior to that, Fadal reported for WPGH-TV in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, WFTV in Orlando, Florida and WOWK-TV in Charleston, West Virginia and KYW-TV in Philadelphia doing investigative journalism. In 2004, she joined WCBS in New York City, and she joined WPIX on March 24, 2008,[1] reporting for the Morning News five days a week, covering breaking news as well as feature stories.

Along with Fadal's Emmy wins, she was also awarded a Broadcast Journalism award in 2004 by the National Air Disaster Foundation [NADF] post-9/11, for contributions leading to improved aviation safety. Fadal was named the University of South Florida Outstanding Young Alumnus of 2004,[2] University of South Florida AlumNews, October 2004. and is the recipient of the Associated Press Award for Best Enterprise Reporting.

Fadal co-starred in the 2009 docu-series, "Matched In Manhattan" on Lifetime (TV Network) as a dating coach and stylist to clients. Fadal was the co-host of the wedding show "Say I Do, NYC" and the digital show "On The White Carpet" for NYC.gov in 2010. Fadal also appeared regularly on the syndicated television show Better where she co-hosts a segment on relationships from 2008-12. In addition, Fadal has appeared on The Today Show, Good Morning America, The CBS Early Show, Tyra Banks and The Nate Berkus Show. She is also called upon as an celebrity expert for the Bio Channel and A&E Celebrity Specials.
