TECOM Group, formerly known as TECOM Investments, operates 11 sector-focused communities in Dubai.[1][2][3] It is a unit of the sovereign investment vehicle, Dubai Holding[4][5]

The group works with the Dubai Government in its new strategies and plans:

The group has rolled out an AED 4.5 billion Innovation Strategy to create infrastructure, and drive entrepreneurship.. This includes developing innovation complexes, creative spaces, technology laboratories and smart buildings, the launch of new business incubators, and the establishment of a start-up fund to stimulate innovation.[12] As part of this, the group launched a new platform for media start-ups and entrepreneurs, in5 Media. The group first invested in incubation and innovation centres in 2013, with Dubai Internet City’s in5, which has since worked with over 20,000 people in hackathons, competitions and community events.[13][14][15]

TECOM merged two of its projects, Dubai Biotechnology and Research Park, and the Energy and Environment Park, in 2015, into Dubai Science Park.[16][17]

New brand identities were announced in 2015 and 2016 for some of its communities:

TECOM also manages Dubai Internet City, Dubai Media City, Dubai Studio City and Dubai International Academic City.[20][21][22][23]

Dubai Design District (d3) is also a part of the group’s themed developments portfolio, located adjacent to the Business Bay area.[24] Dubai Wholesale City is the latest addition to the group’s portfolio of business communities. .[25]
