Sydren is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics.
Publication history
Sydren first appeared in Astonishing X-Men Vol. 3 #10 and was created by Joss Whedon and John Cassaday.
Fictional character biography
Sydren is a Drenx who is a member of the S.H.I.E.L.D. offshoot S.W.O.R.D. who has a habit of stating the obvious with his superior officer Abigail Brand making a snappy remark. He first appeared with Abigail Brand to help the X-Men fight Danger.[1]
During the Dark Reign storyline, Sydren was present with Abigail Brand when Norman Osborn appoints Henry Peter Gyrich as co-commander of S.W.O.R.D.[2] Sydren was among the aliens captured by Henry Peter Gyrich in order to have the aliens deported from Earth.[3]
When refugees from Breakworld arrive on Earth, Sydren was with Abigail Brand when she, Cyclops, and Emma Frost talk with Warlord Kruun and Haleena. Kruun tells them that Breakworld has fallen into anarchy and that the inhabitants of Breakworld need a place to stay.[4]
Sydren was with Abigail Brand when she sends a transmission to the X-Men informing them of Unit's escape from the Peak's prison.[5]

- Sydren appears in The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes episode "Welcome to the Kree Empire", voiced by Troy Baker. He is seen as a slave of the Kree Empire where Kalum Lo uses him to access the controls of Kang the Conqueror's ship Damocles (which has been converted into S.W.O.R.D.'s base) by typing in various codes until the one he enters is accepted. After Abigail Brand defeats the Kree on Damocles' bridge, Abigail frees Sydren in exchange that he sides with S.W.O.R.D. which he does. He helps Abigail Brand and the S.W.O.R.D. Agents compromise the Kree ship. In the episode "Secret Invasion", Sydren detects a bomb that the Skrull posing as Henry Peter Gyrich placed on Damocles and ordered everyone to evacuate. Following the Skrulls' defeat, Iron Man gave the data of his Skrull-detecting equipment to Sydren so that he can replicate it for S.H.I.E.L.D. and S.W.O.R.D. to use when it comes to hunting down the remaining Skrulls on Earth.
