Susan McLane
Susan McLane (née Neidlinger) (September 28, 1929 – February 13, 2005) was an American politician.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, McLane graduated from Hanover High School in Hanover, New Hampshire, in 1947. She then went to Mount Holyoke College. She married Malcolm McLane, who was a businessman and politician, and they lived with their family in Concord, New Hampshire, since 1952. From 1969 to 1981, McLane served in the New Hampshire House of Representatives. In 1980, McLane ran for United States Congress and lost the election. In 1981, McLane studied at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. Then, from 1981 to 1995, McLane served in the New Hampshire State Senate. McLane was a Republican. She then became an Independent and finally became a Democrat. Her daughter is Ann McLane Kuster, congresswoman who currently represents New Hampshire's 2nd congressional district. McLane died from Alzheimer's disease in Concord, New Hampshire.[1][2]
