Susan Ma is an British-Chinese businesswoman, known for her appearances on the seventh season of BBC television series The Apprentice in 2011.[2] Although she did not win the competition, Alan Sugar saw potential in her business plan and so, following a £250,000 investment in 2012, Tropic Skin Care was born.[3]

Career

2010–11: The Apprentice

Ma was one of the final three contestants on the seventh flight of The Apprentice.

2012–present: Tropic Skin Care

On March 18, 2012, Tropic Skin Care was launched as part of a 50/50 partnership between Ma and Alan Sugar.[4] As of 2014, it's thought Tropic has made a turnover of £3 million.[5]

Personal life

At the age of 15, in 2004, Ma began creating a Body Smooth product from her own home and began selling it at Greenwich Market in London.[6] She attended Croydon High School for Girls from 2002 to 2007, and received 11 GCSEs of A* or A.[7] Later, in 2007, she began attending University College London and graduated in 2010 with a 2:1 Bachelor's degree in Philosophy and Economics.[8]
