History
The body was founded in 1963 and in 2013 made the Australian Boardriders Battle

The national body has eight state member associations:
- Surfing Queensland
- Surfing NSW
- Surfing Western Australia
- Surfing Victoria
- Surfing South Australia
- Surfing Tasmania
