Suppiah Chanturu is a Malaysian footballer who currently plays as a right winger for Johor Darul Ta'zim F.C..

Career

Chanturu was born in Kulim, Kedah but he never plays for Kedah FA as a professional footballer. He started his career in football with Telekom Malaysia President Cup at the age of 19 in 2007. In 2008 he join Kuala Lumpur FA President's Cup team.[1]

When Kelantan FA meet Penang FA in a 2009 Super League Malaysia season match, Chanturu's performance has attracted Kelantan's coach at that time, B. Sathianathan to brought him to his squad. In the 2010 Super League Malaysia season, he officially signed a contract with Kelantan FA.[2][3] He won the 2010 Malaysia Cup, 2011 Malaysia Super League, 2012 Malaysia Super League, 2012 Malaysia FA Cup and 2012 Malaysia Cup with Kelantan. During his stay with Kelantan, he was also been affectionately nicknamed the "Kelantan Express" or "Turbo Chan" by Kelantan's fans for his superb speed on the field.[4]

For the 2013 Malaysia Super League season, S. Chanturu has joined the unrelegated side, Perak FA.

International career

Chanturu was the member of Malaysia national under-23 football team since year 2010. He had made several appearances and had scored goal for the team. In year 2010 also, he had made debut for Malaysia national football team. In June 2012, he was called up by Malaysia coach, Datuk K. Rajagobal for friendly matches against Philippines[5] and Singapore.[6][7]
