Suicide in France

According to WHO's 2012 suicide report, France ranked #47 of 170 countries listed.[1] France had an overall suicide rate of 12.3 per 100,000 people in 2012,[1]—higher than in Germany or United Kingdom. The 2012 suicide rate for French men was 19.3 per 100,000—three times the rate for women, at 6 per 100,000 according to WHO's 2012 suicide report.

Suicides at France Telecom captured media attention in 2009, and with some attributing blame on the company's restructuring in the wake of its privatisation.[2]
