Stevens Point Transit system is the public transportation system in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. It is owned and operated by the City of Stevens Point. It is one of only two cities in Central Wisconsin to have its own public transportation system, the other being Wausau.

Services

It does business under two names:

The transit system is currently reviewing a plan to create a regional bus service which would connect Stevens Point with the smaller nearby cities of Marshfield, and Wisconsin Rapids. The bus line would then continue north to serve the cities of Wausau and Merrill.

Late night

As of September 3, 2009, the city of Stevens Point now offers late night service from 10:15 p.m. to 3:15 a.m. Thursday through Saturday. The service is paid for by University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point student fees, but anyone can use the service totally free of charge. According to The Stevens Point Journal, the two bus routes saw more than 39 people on its first day, 68 on its second, and more than 71 on its third. The service has supposedly cut down on drunk driving since the majority of its users are coming from the bars located on "The Square".
