Steven Blush

Steven Blush is an American author, publisher and promoter.

Career

His book American Hardcore: A Tribal History was released in 2001 through Feral House publishing. The film version, American Hardcore, was released September 22, 2006. The DVD was subsequently issued February 20, 2007 through Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

The book and film document the cultural phenomena of the hardcore punk movement that took place across the USA during the early 1980s, largely seen as a reaction to the UK's mid-70s Punk explosion.

The author promoted Hardcore punk shows in Washington, DC and spent time as a tour manager throughout the early 80s. In 1986 he founded Seconds magazine, publishing it until 2000. His writing has appeared in Spin, Interview Magazine, The Village Voice, Details, and High Times. Steve Blush currently resides in Manhattan.

The band Weekend Nachos featured Blush in their song 'American Hardcore' with the line 'Steven Blush, you are a chode, you wrote a book because you're old.'
