Stenbolone (INN), also known as 2-methyl-4,5α-dihydro-δ1-testosterone, is a synthetic androgenic-anabolic steroid (AAS) of the dihydrotestosterone (DHT) group.[1][2][3][4] It is not orally active and is used as the ester prodrug stenbolone acetate (USAN) (brand names Anatrofin, Stenobolone) via depot intramuscular injection.[1][4] Stenbolone is closely related structurally to 1-testosterone1-DHT), methylstenbolone (17α-methylstenbolone),[5] and drostanolone (2-methyl-DHT).
