St. Francis Xavier's Girls' High School is a Bengali-medium school in the Old Dhaka area of Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is operated by the Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions, a Roman Catholic religious order.[1][2]

History and operations

It was established as an English-medium school in 1912 by the Congregation of Our Lady of Christian Missions at Luxmi Bazar After Bangladesh became independent in 1971, the school became a Bengali-medium school.

The school starts at 7:40 a.m. and ends at 1:25 p.m. There are four sections in every class. Each section is named, with names including Neptune, Saturn, Jupiter, Hira and Nelkamal. There are about 60 to 70 students in every class. In front of the school building there is a play ground and a basketball court for the students.

Although it is a missionary school, it is open to students of all religions and castes.
