Srinjoy Mukherjee (Bengali: সৃঞ্জয় মুখারজী) is an Indian Sarod Player who performs Hindustani classical music and experimental ‘Jugalbandis’. He belongs to the great Bangash Gharana. He is a GandaBandhan (a traditional ceremony of acceptance between a teacher and his most able student) student of the highly acclaimed Sarod player-Ustad Amaan Ali Khan.[1][2]

Early life

Srinjoy [3][4] was born in a highly enriched musical family.His grandfather Pandit Bibhutibhushan Mukherjee was a Pakhwaz player. Inspired by his father, he started learning Sarod under the guidance of his respected teacher, Diptesh Bhattacharya at the age of five. Later, He was groomed by Pandit "Kamal Mullick" and became a student of Kolkata "Sangeet Research Academy" – a very well-known music institute of India. He completed his bachelor degree in music from "RabindraBharati University", Kolkata.

Career

Srinjoy started performing professionally in various domestic concerts from the year 2008. He has also played in internationa concerts debuting at Doha Qatar, in 2012. in 2015 he performed at Dhaka and Maimansing [5]
