Sluggo (route)

A sluggo is an American football pattern run by a receiver.[1] The word is a portmanteau of slant and go.[2]

However, many people believe the origin of the name sluggo to come from the more common word slugo, an eighteenth century word meaning "out and go." However, some theorists believe that the word "slugo" breaks down as the following:

Sl: slant U: you Go: go

"Slant you go"
