Skyword Inc. (Skyword) is an American SaaS technology and content marketing services corporation, with headquarters in Boston, Massachusetts, United States. The corporation specializes in Content Marketing. The Skyword content marketing platform was built to help companies that wish to produce and disseminate their own content for the purpose of new customer acquisition.[1][2] Skyword also provides services to brands wishing to produce their own content.[3]

Skyword also maintains an digital publication on the topic of content marketing it calls the Content Standard.[4]

History

Since incorporating as Skyword, the company has raised multiple rounds of funding from Cox Media Group.[5][6] The corporation was founded by Tom Gerace, who serves as CEO of the company.[7][8] Jim Manzi, former Chairman and CEO of Lotus Development Corporation currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Skyword.[9] In 2013 Robert J. Murray joined the company as president.[10]

In June 2016, Skyword announced a partnership with Robert McKee in order to help marketers enact the core principles of story in marketing and business.[11]

Offices

Skyword is headquartered in Boston.[12] Skyword technology is developed from offices in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.[13] In the summer of 2015, its Pittsburgh offices will move to One PPG Place.[14] The organization acquired Vidaao, a New York startup with a video content creation platform, along with its freelance network of videographers and editors in September 2014. Skyword now maintains an office in New York City.[15][16][17] It acquired Palo Alto, California based Clear Content Marketing in July 2014. Subsequently, Palo Alto became the organization's base of operations on the west coast.[18]

Awards

In 2014, the organization was named as a top marketing and advertising company in Boston by BostInno.[19]

Skyword has been awarded a U.S. patent for identifying and ranking influencers as well as a patent for a technique for content categorization, search, and discovery by a community of users.[20][21]
