Sitticus floricola is a species of jumping spider that can be found in Scotland and other parts of the United Kingdom.[1] They are typically 4–4.5 millimetres (0.16–0.18 in) in length.[2] Females are dark reddish brown, with an almost black anterior.[2]
Habitat and ecology
The species live in bogs, marshes,[3]fen and meadows, on the heads of plants like Eriophorum vaginatum (cotton grass) or similar, on which they occasionally spin their cocoons.[4] They can be found from March to September.[5]
