Sing a Song (Earth, Wind & Fire song)

"Sing a Song" is a hit song by R&B/funk band, Earth, Wind & Fire, which was written by Maurice White and Al McKay. It was released in 1975 and included on the band's 1975 double-live album, Gratitude. "Sing a Song" spent two weeks at number one on the R&B singles chart in January 1976, and it was also successful on the pop chart, peaking at number five on the Billboard Hot 100.^[1] "Sing a Song" was also a hit on the disco/dance chart peaking at number five.^[2]

Reception

"Sing a Song" is regarded as one of their most popular songs, and it was certified Platinum by the RIAA for selling over one million copies.^[3]^[4]

Covers

"Sing a Song" was covered by the gospel band Point of Grace on their Platinum album, Life Love & Other Mysteries. Gospel group Take 6 covered the song as the opening track for their 1996 album, Brothers.^[5]
