Shoo made her debut with S.E.S in 1997. S.E.S enjoyed tremendous success and became the top-selling K-pop girl group of their era. The group officially disbanded in late 2002 after Bada and Eugene parted ways with S.M. Entertainment, while Shoo stayed with S.M. Entertainment to pursue her solo career until 2006.

Solo Career

After the breakup of S.E.S. in late 2002, Shoo stayed with SM Entertainment. She contributed to SMTown albums in 2003 and 2004, but eventually decided to leave SM for JIIN Entertainment in 2006,[2] the same company that Bada signed with. Instead of releasing solo albums like her former group members, Shoo instead joined musicals. In 2005, she starred in the Korean adaptation of Bat Boy: The Musical,[3] which sold over 110,000 tickets in Korea and Japan. She has since done other musicals, but has not been prominently in the spotlight since her S.E.S. times. However, she has gone on record as saying that a new S.E.S. album is in the works, but there has been no official word on the topic since. In December 2006, she stated that she would pursue acting, putting her singing career on hiatus.[4]

In January 2010, Shoo made her solo debut with the release her first mini-album, Devote One's Love, with the lead track "Jagibaggae" (Korean: "자기밖에", "Only You").[5]

In December 2014, Shoo and Bada made a special comeback on Infinity Challenge, in the episode "Saturday for Singers", and performed two songs ("I'm Your Girl" and "I Love You") with Girls' Generation member Seohyun, who was filling in for Eugene: she could not attend due to her pregnancy but stated, "she [wished she] could have been there."[6] In January 2015, she appeared on the show Roommate with her twin daughters, Im Rayul and Im Rahui, and her husband, Hyosung. She met the celebrity cast, including Sunny (Girls' Generation) and Joon-hyung (g.o.d) whom she already knew, and ultimately appeared on more than one episode.
