Sheikh Jana
Sheikh Jana is a town near Shewa Adda and Union Council of Swabi District in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.[1] It is located at 34°13'0N 72°21'0E with an altitude of 334 metres (1099 feet).[2] Sheikh Jana is an old and historical village of district Swabi.The old name of Sheikh Jana is Raam Jana. It was called this name due to Raam (Bhagwaan) which was placed in the center of village. Before Partition Of Sub-Continent Sheikh Jana was a Hindu Majority Village. It was a center for all Hindus of that area with respect to religious contributions. After Partition all Hindus of that area migrated India. Their worship places are also some little bit present in that place. Sheikh Jana is the land of hospitality and brave people. In Sheikh Jana Village now there is the majority of Yousafzai People which are the local inhabitants of this area from centuries. There are also some people living who are migrated from other places and now settled in this village. Sheikh Jana is the village of hard working people.Education was not very common in these people but now is improving gradually. The popular personalities of Sheikh Jana are Ijaz Khalid, Haji Muhammad Fazil, Haji Sher Jung, Haji Muhammad Qamash Khan, Malak Nawaz Ali and Mushtaq Ahmad. These people have strong family back ground and play a main role in management of Sheikh jana village.
The population of sheikh jana village is approximately 40,000. There is one higher secondary school for boys, one high school for girls. There are also two private schools for boys and girls. There are seven main mohallas namely Ahmad Khel, Ali Sher Khel, Gharay Cham, Ismail Khel, Kara Khel, Saif Ud Din Khel and Shobla Cham respectively. Sheikh Jana is situated 15 km far from main Swabi Center. In borders there is Kernel Sher Kalli (Nawi Kalli), Spin Kanri, Shewa Kalli, Asota Sharif and Mansabdar. The People of Sheikh Jana are mostly middle lower class. They lives a simple life.The source of income is agriculture of most of population. A great number of people are also in foreign mostly in KSA and UAE for the purpose of earning income. The fewer people are on government job like teachers, police, health workers and of other department. There is also a group of labour community.This community (the most hard working mans)are going for their works daily in the morning. They have a good image of hard working in over all district. This community is also known as Lantaryan (Constructor of the buildings) . The main games played in Sheikh Jana Village are Kabaddi and Cricket. Some people are also interested in football, and badminton. The Inhibitabts of sheikh jana are pure, clever, honest and loving people. They love their homeland and their religion Islam.
