Shehzad Sheikh or Shahzad Sheikh is a Pakistani film and television actor and model, known for playing the lead role in the 2015 film Karachi Se Lahore. He also starred in the series Annie Ki Ayegi Baraat, Mi Raqsam, and Mere Hamrahi, and a TV film Main Kukkoo Aur woh. He is the son of well-known actor Javed Sheikh.

Early life

Sheikh was born on 26 September 1982 in Karachi in the Sheikh family, to father Javed Sheikh and mother Zinat Mangi.[1][2] He went to the United States for education and did a one-year course in acting from the New York Film Academy.[3][4]

Career

Television

Sheikh is a model and actor, started his acting career from television shows like AAG TV's 2011's Dreamers in which he played the lead role of Mickey along with Ainy Jaffri.[5][1]

In 2012, Sheikh played a lead role of Mikaal Ahmad in Geo TV's series Kis Ki Ayegi Baraat's fourth season Annie Ki Ayegi Baraat along with Naveen Waqar as Annie, and the other cast included Alishba Yousuf, Bushra Ansari, Javed Sheikh, Samina Ahmed, and Hina Dilpazeer. Marina Khan directed the season and written by Vasay Chaudhry.[6] Sheikh also played another lead in 2012 as Zeeshan in the Geo's serial Mi Raqsam along with Ayeza Khan, Waseem Abbas, and Salman Shahid which Sabiha Sumar directed and written by Kifayat Rodani.[7]

In 2013, Sheikh played a supporting role in Hum TV's Halki si Khalish along with Javed Sheikh, Mehreen Raheel, and Mawra Hocane.[8][1] He also played another supporting role in 2013 in the ARY Digital's serial Mere Hamrahi as Aahad, along with Fahad Mustafa and Soniya Hussain in the lead. Furqan Khan directed while Sana Fahad wrote the serial.[9]

In 2014, Sheikh starred a supporting role in ARY's serial Bhabhi along with Aijaz Aslam and Sohai Ali Abro, which Asif Younus directed and Ghazala Aziz wrote.[10][11] He played a supporting role in the ARY's Soteli along with Ayesha Khan, Deepak Perwani, and Sabreen Hisbani, directed by Shehrazade Sheikh and written by Seema Ghazal.[12]

Film

Sheikh made his film debut in 2013 with by playing a supporting role of Mikaal Qureshi in 2013 sports drama Main Hoon Shahid Afridi opposite Humayun Saeed, Noman Habib, Javed Shaikh, Mahnoor Baloch and Nadeem Baig.[1] The film was directed by Syed Ali Raza Usama and scripted by Vasay Chaudhry, released domestically on 23 August 2013 by ARY Films.[13]

In 2015, Sheikh acted a lead role in the road comedy film Karachi Se Lahore, directed by Wajahat Rauf and written by Yasir Hussain.[4][14][15] Ayesha Omer and Javed Sheikh also starred in the film, which released domestically on 31 July 2015.[16]

Personal life

Sheikh is the son of well known actor Javed Sheikh and Zinat Mangi, brother of actress Momal Sheikh and step-brother of Mariam Sheikh.[2] He is the nephew of Saleem Sheikh and Behroze Sabzwari and cousin of Shehroz Sabzwari, all actors.[1][3]

Sheikh got married to Hina Mir on 28 December 2012 in Karachi, the same year her sister Momal married to Nadir.[3] The couple has a son named Shahmir Sheikh, who was born on 25 February 2015.[17]
