The Shearwater Aircraft Company was an airplane manufacturing corporation registered from 2007-16 in New Zealand and headquartered in Auckland.[2] Their main product was to be a general aviation amphibious aircraft, to be constructed as a homebuilt aircraft kit, with plans to then develop certified aircraft versions.

The Shearwater 201 was to be a four-seat, amphibious, single-engine, mid-wing, V-tailed, fixed-wing aircraft supplied as a kit. The kit was being designed to use either the Mistral G300 Wankel or Price Induction Jet DGEN 390 jet engines, both in pusher configuration. The kit was intended to have a construction time of 1000 man hours.[3]
A flying-scale model was shown at the EAA AirVenture airshow in 2011.[4]
