Shahristan (archeological site)

The site of the ancient town of Shahristan is located in the Sughd Province of western Tajikistan, just west of the town of Kairma.[1] It was the former capital city of the Oshrusana between the 6th and 9th Centuries AD.[2]

World Heritage Status

This site was added to the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List on November 9, 1999 in the Cultural category.[2]
