Seven Wonders of India
Various polls have been conducted by media houses to find the Seven Wonders of India. Amongst them, the most popular ones were those conducted by The Times of India in July 2007 and NDTV in 2008-09. Three wonders; the Konark Sun Temple, Khajuraho, and Nalanda, appear on both lists.
NDTV's List of Seven Wonders of India
NDTV along with the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India conducted a nationwide campaign for searching the seven wonders of India in 2008-09. The campaign started with shortlisting 200 places from all of the Indian states and then inviting public to cast their vote for their favorite places.

Times of India's list of seven wonders of India
The Times of India newspaper carried out a SMS poll, from 21 July to 31 July 2007, to vote for the seven greatest wonders of India, out of a list of 20 identified ancient or medieval sites for the purpose.[1]
