Home to the well-known Bugtraq mailing list, SecurityFocus columnists and writers included former Department of Justice cybercrime prosecutor Mark Rasch, and hacker-turned-journalist Kevin Poulsen.

SecurityFocus was acquired by Symantec in August 2002.
