Critical reception

Upon its release, the song was met with positive reviews from music critics. Jibola L of Bellanaija said: "It’s definitely a fun listen, like most music churned from the Mo’hits factory. Once again, impressive work by Don Jazzy. We’re totally loving the Highlife feeling on the song. Of course, we see him bringing back his harmonica days on this one." [1] Demola OG of NotJustOk said: "Lovely track from the KokoMaster with that mature feel. It may possibly cut cross the older and younger generation because it is D'banj and it appears that it has some element of a highlife." [2] Oye Akideinde of 360nobs added: "Loving the cut. D Banj professes his love to a chick with a lovely 'backside."[3]

"Scape Goat (The Fix)" is a song by Nigerian recording artist D'banj, featuring American rapper Kanye West. It was released on April 21, 2013 as the official remix to "Scapegoat", a song recorded in 2010. D'banj first hinted to working with the G.O.O.D Music CEO during a backstage interview with Tim Westwood at Radio 1's Hackney Weekend in London.[4] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9]

Critical reception

Upon its release, the song received mixed to positive reviews from music critics. Jordan Sargent of Spin described the remix as "a delightfully sunny song that nudges up against soca. D'Banj is a Nigerian pop star who is the breakout star of Africa's afrobeats scene, which bridges the gap between the sounds and rhythms of Afrobeat to the tempo of dance music." [10] Carl Williott of Idolator added: "It’s a summery island beat, not at all the brooding, challenging stuff we’d been expecting Yeezy to break his silence with (based on his recent angsty behavior). It’s certainly catchy, and as far as recent Kanye material goes, it’s refreshingly carefree and simple. But it doesn’t amount to anything more than a momentary blip on the radar." [11]
