Sarah Quintrell

Sarah Elizabeth Quintrell (born Lambeth, London) is an English writer and actress, best known for Call the Midwife (2016), Doctor Who (2011) and BBC TV sitcom Carrie and Barry (2004-2005).

Career

Quintrell started her career playing Sinéad in the BBC TV sitcom Carrie and Barry (2004-2005). She has gone on to appear in Call the Midwife (2016), Doctor Who (2011), Lewis, (2007), The Watcher, The Last Trace, The Marchioness Disaster, Doctors and Island at War.

Quintrell was the original Bobbie in Mike Kenny's The Railway Children (2008-2009) ^[1] at York Theatre Royal. She transferred with the production to London Waterloo Station, where it won the Olivier Award for Best Entertainment (2011).^[2] She has also played Eliza Doolittle in Pygmalion (2005).^[3][4] Other theatre includes As You Like It (2006), Forty Years On (2011) and an assortment of new writing including AgeSexLocation (2004), Bloodtide (2005) and playing Natalie in James Phillips’s City Stories ^[5] which had a residency at St James Theatre London (2014-2015). It transferred to 59East59 Theatre in New York as part of Brits Off Broadway (2016).

Writer

Quintrell's writing debut ELLEN, was broadcast on Channel 4 - Thursday 1 September 2016, at 10pm, starring Jessica Barden, Yasmin Monet Prince, Jaime Winstone, Joe Dempsie and Charlie Creed-Miles.^[6]
