Sara Sharmaa (born 21 May) is an Indian film actress and model who has predominantly appeared in Telugu, Tulu and Bhojpuri movies. The model turned actress Sara, made her acting debut with Disco,[1][2] alongside Nikhil Siddharth. She has also given numerous stage shows as a part of her modeling career.

Early life

Sara was born to Mrs. Parveen Sharma and Mr.Anil Sharma in Kullu, Himachal Pradesh. She finished her schooling from D.A.V Sr. Sec Public School in Himachal Pradesh and completed her three year Diploma in Interior Designing in Chandigarh. During her school days, she was a District-level Table Tennis and State-Level Badminton player. She was also an avid dancer and though does not have any professional training in any particular dance form; she has choreographed a couple of dance shows during her schooling. Her father is a Joint Director in an educational firm called Rayat Bahra University Educational group In Chandigarh and her mother is a teacher at D.A.V Public School in Himachal Pradesh. She also has an elder brother Ashish Sharma who is presently working in a private firm in New Delhi. After completing her studies, she went to Mumbai where she took up freelancing projects in Interior designing. Simultaneously, she took up many stage shows and modeling ads, which landed her in cinemas.

Career

Sara was first approached to play the lead role in a short film titled Kavi, directed by Rajesh Ram and co-actor Eijaz Khan, a well Known TV actor. Set in the backdrop of 1920’s, Sara played a simple girl in the short film. Post this project, she took up modeling for full time and was a part of many catalogues. While she was in Hyderabad to complete one of her interior designing project, she was chosen by Abhinav Reddy, producer of Disco, to play the female lead opposite Nikhil Siddharth. Thus, she made her acting debut with Disco in 2012. Sara’s next project was a Tulu film Rikshaw Driver (2013)[3] which won her accolades. The movie was awarded as the Best Film in the Best Regional Film Category by the Government of Karnataka. She then did a song as Special Appearance in a Bhojpuri movie Gulami with Dinesh Lal Yadav(Nirhaua) and she currently has one Bhojpuri project and two untitled Kannada projects. She is going to do a bollywood project by this year end. [4][5]

Recognition

Sara Sharmaa[6] has appeared in Fair Glow soap advertisement; she was one among the four other models who also endorsed the same brand. She received a wider recognition after her film Rikshaw Driver won Best Film award. Recently, She Performed In Mauritius in BIFA Awards and was Awarded as BIFA Best Personality.
