Sanne Vloet is a Dutch model currently living in New York City.[2] She is a Victoria's Secret Model, walking in the world famous fashion show for the first time in 2015.[3]

Early life

Sanne Vloet was born on March 9, 1995 in Donkerbroek, Netherlands.[4] Before fame she was a successful gymnast. While auditioning for Holland's Got Talent, she was discovered by a modeling agent at the age of 14.[4] Her mother and brother are extremely supportive of her modeling career, however she has kept them out of the limelight.[4] Her mother would routinely bring her in to Amsterdam for her photo-shoots, even though it was quite out of the way the family and was proclaimed to be more enthusiastic about it than Sanne herself.[5] She has one younger brother who is 2 years her junior.[5] When she was 15 she was applying for a job in a supermarket, but later turned it down in order to pursue modeling.[6] She speaks both Dutch and English fluently, however she does have a thick Dutch accent.[7]

Career

Vloet broke through in the runway industry by walking for Oscar de la Renta in 2014.[8] She has modelled on several fashion show catwalks, most notably her first appearance in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2015, and her re-casting in the 2016 show.[9] Although she is a runway model, she is not currently a Victoria Secret Angel.[10]

She has modelled in Paris, London, New York City and Milan for designers including Thierry Mugler, Anthony Vaccarello, Carolina Herrera and Stella McCartney.[11]

She has two credited magazine covers, the 2015 September edition of Elle Netherlands, and January 2015 FACES[11] and has also appeared in editorials for Harper's Bazaar, Elle, and a number of editions of Vogue.[11] She appeared in the 2016 Ralph Lauren TV ad.[12]

She has been represented by the Wilma Wakker agency,[11] Viva Models - Paris; Why Not Model Agency; Viva Models - London[11] and New York Model Management.[13]

Victoria Secret Fashion Shows

2015

The 2015 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show was at Lexington Avenue Armory on November 10, 2015 in New York City.[14] Sanne Vloet wore a dusty rose floral ensemble and was In "A Portrait of an Angel" segment of the show[7] while The Weeknd sang.[14] Her outfit was said to resemble a cape.[15] To the after party she wore a sparkling gold gown.[16] Her backstage secret was "to eat a lot of fruit and sleep well."[17] She was in Miami when she got the call she was cast in the Fashion Show.[7] She says she did a lot of pilates and yoga to get in shape for the catwalk.[7]

2016

For the 2016 show there have been sneak peeks, and Sanne is wearing an all red floral combination for one of her trips down the walkway.[18]

Personal life

She currently has over 110K followers on Instagram[2] but maintains a personal Facebook page with only 673 friends,[19] which is a rarity for prominent rising models. Sanne has maintained a diplomatic approach when it comes to her peers, stating that she sees no reason to be catty or feel competitive with other girls, as everyone is in this industry together.[5]
