Sanjay Shah (businessman)

Sanjay Shah is a Dubai-based businessman. He is the founder of hedge fund firm Solo Capital[1] and philanthropic organization Autism Rocks.[2]

Shah was born in London in 1970 and was sent to medical school to become a doctor.[3] However, early in his career he realized that being a doctor is not something he would enjoy and he decided to pursue a career in finance. He started Solo Capital in 2008 after being laid off from a high profile job and his new stint as an entrepreneur was quite successful, with an article in The Sunday Times covering his successful career.[4]

Philanthropic activities

Sanjay Shah's youngest son, Nikhil,[5] was diagnosed with autism in 2011.[6] After working with therapists and medical experts for many years, he decided to do something to raise awareness about autism and founded Autism Rocks in 2014.[7] Autism Rocks conducts music gigs worldwide to raise funds for charity and to create awareness about autism. Their latest gig[8] was in London, featuring Ricky Martin.

Tax fraud

Sanjay Shah is being investigated by Danish prosecutors as a prime suspect in a case regarding the Danish Goverment getting defrauded for over 1 billion tax dollars[9]
