Sangise (Marathi:संगीसे) is a village in India. It is situated in the Mawal taluka of Pune District in the state of Maharashtra.

Geography

Sangise is situated close to the new Mumbai Pune Expressway.The villages around Sangise are Kondivade A.m, Kondivade N.m, Kivale and Devghar. Talukas surrounding Sangise are Karjat Taluka, Talegaon Dabhade Taluka, Mulshi Taluka and by Khalapur Taluka.districts closest to Sangise are Raigad district, Thane district, Mumbai City district and Mumbai Suburban district.Nearest railway stations around Sangise are Vadgaon railway station, Begdewadi railway station,Teegaon railway station, Talegaon railway station and Kamshet railway station.Places to visit around Sangise is the hill station town of Lonavala and the Karla Caves.[1]

The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is an elected representative of village as per the constitution of India and the Panchayati raj.The village falls under the Maval taluka, The taluka headquarters are situated at Vadgaon and is governed by a tahsildar.As per the 2011 census out of a population of 694 people are 515 Literate and 179 are Illiterate Sangise literacy rate is 82.01 % which is lower than the average of 82.34 % in the state of Maharashtra the male literacy is 89.34 % and the female literacy rate is 72.95 %. ,Sangise has a government-run primary school.[2]

Sangise village has 149 houses with a Population of 694 which consist of Males 383 and 311 Females, as per the 2011 census Sangise village population of children with a age group from 0-6 is 66 which makes up 9.51 % of total population of village. As per the 2011 census the total Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes population in the village is 81 people of which 48 people are Scheduled Castes and 33 people are Schedule Tribe. Sangise has a 6.05 % population of Schedule Tribe and 5.62 % Schedule Caste.[3]
