Sangam is a Pakistani feature film in Urdu released in 1997, directed by Syed Noor starring Resham, Shaan, Saleem Sheikh and Sana. It was a comeback movie for Film Star Shaan, and the first credited movie for actress Sana.[1][2]

Plot

The plot tells the story of a patient who is bound to live in a glass-made room for all his life, but whose fate changes when he falls in love with a female pop-singer, Resham, for whom he breaks his glass-house, putting his life in danger, as he cannot breathe natural air.

Reception by the public

Sangam was a hit film in Pakistan in 1997, and received the most prestigious National Awards for Resham as Best Actress, Shaan as Best Actor and Syed Noor as Best Director. According to Lahore Circuit Box Office Report, the film was declared as a "hit", this film ran for 17 weeks at Rattan Cinema and did a total of 41 weeks showing at different cinemas. In the Karachi Circuit, this film ran 9 weeks at Star Cinema and was given Silver Jubilee Status. In total, it ran for 31 weeks in Karachi, Pakistan.
