Sam Kim (Hangul: 샘김; born February 19, 1998) is a Korean-American singer-songwriter and guitarist. He has a younger brother called Joo-young who enjoys to beat box with his brother, he also has a younger sister who is very academically smart. Sam Kim originally started to play guitar to get girls. He is currently signed under Antenna Music, having finished as the runner-up of the SBS talent show K-pop Star 3. He officially debuted on April 10, 2016, on K-pop Star 5.[1]

Life and career

Sam Kim was born in the United States, where he attended Todd Beamer High School in Federal Way, Washington. Moving to South Korea, he participated in the third season of the talent show K-pop Star[2] and was signed by Antenna Music's CEO You Hee-yeol, who was a judge on the show.[3]

Kim made his debut with the release of the first part of his debut album My Name is Sam, which included the pre-release single "Mama Don't Worry", on March 28, 2016.[4] On April 10, he released the second part of the album, including his official debut single "No 눈치 (No Sense)", featuring Crush. His debut performance was at the finale stage of K-pop Star 5 on the same day.[5]
