Sainya Seva Medal

The Sainya Seva Medal is a medal of the Indian Armed Forces.[1]

Awarded in recognition of non-operational service under conditions of hardship and severe climate in specified areas.

An individual qualifying for the medal for the first time shall be awarded the medal, together with a clasp on which shall be inscribed the place where the service was rendered like "jammu&kashmir", "Sikkim" etc. The clasp will be also superimposed in the medal. On all subsequent occasions when the award is made only a clasp indicating the place where the service was rendered shall be awarded.

Commissioned Officers, Junior Commissioned Officers, Other Ranks and Non-Combatants (enrolled) of the regular Army, embodied Auxiliary and Reserve Forces or any other lawfully constituted Armed Forces.

Nursing Officers and other members of Nursing Services in the Armed Forces.
