Saber Safar is a Free Syrian Army colonel, who defected from the Syrian Army to the FSA. He is the founder and commander of the Hamza Division[1] and also holds the position of overall commander in the First Army since 1 January 2015.[2] He lost his life in combat during the 2015 southern Syria campaign against the Syrian army.
