Rupert Cornwell

Rupert Cornwell is a British journalist. He is Chief US Commentator at The Independent newspaper.

He was a foreign correspondent for the Financial Times and Reuters. He was then the first Moscow correspondent of The Independent, from its launch in 1986. During this time he won two British Press Awards.

In 1983 he published God's Banker, about Roberto Calvi, an Italian banker found hanging from Blackfriars Bridge.

He is the half-brother of John le Carré (David Cornwell).[1]
