Rümeysa Hatun (Ottoman Turkish: روميسہ خاتون, birth name Nadia Frankos, other names Dil-e Friz) was a consort to Ottoman Şehzade Mustafa. She was the mother of Şehzade Mehmed and Şehzade Ahmed.

Biography

She was born in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Her mother was a French dressmaker and her father was a Bosnian painter. Her real name was Nadia Frankos. When Nadia was 12 she entered the harem of Şehzade Mustafa at Manisa and soon managed to attract the attention

With her beauty and intelligence she became the favourite concubine of Şehzade Mustafa. In 1547, she gave birth to her first son Şehzade Mehmed.

After Mustafa’s death in 1553, Rümeysa with Mahidevran Gülbahar and Mustafa's children moved to Bursa. At the age of six her son, Şehzade Mehmed got strangled. After her son's death she moved to Izmir's Imperial Palace and settled there. In Izmir Rümeysa was called Kadınefendi Sultan and was highly respected.

She died at Izmir in 1604.

In the TV series Muhteşem Yüzyıl, Rümeysa Hatun is played by Turkish actresses: Elif Atakan and Tuba Büyükustun.
