Royal Wade Kimes (born March 4 in Chester, Arkansas) is an American country music singer endorsed by Ovation.

Biography “The Gentleman Outlaw” Royal Wade Kimes was born a cowboy riding the rugged mountain range on the border of Arkansas and Oklahoma. That life gave him the edge on other recording artist, because he had lived it.

Kimes started out as a songwriter. His endeavors garnered platinum and gold records from the likes of Garth Brooks, Diamond Rio, Gene Watson and others. Once established as a songsmith, his mentor, the now late and legendary Eddy Arnold eased him into another entertainment arena, performing. Kimes smooth as Kentucky Bourbon vocal caught everyone’s attention right away and he was soon signed by Asylum Records. He would enjoy a number of hit singles namely ‘Another Man’s Sky and Leave My Mama Out Of This’. He left the label to pursue his passion, “Cowboy Country.” Kimes immediately had one hit after another in the Cowboy Country arena. “On the Border” a song about outlaws and Judge Isaac Parker of Fort Smith was the first number one and more followed. Then Kimes scored with “I’m An Old Song” which was one of the Top 30 most popular songs of the year picked by Roots Music Chart.

American Profile featured Royal Wade Kimes in their Sunday Edition insert, and Editor and Chief Neil Pond called his show one of the best he had heard or seen. Awards: Kimes has won two Will Rogers Awards, a Blue Flame Award, and was named top musician of the year by True West magazine. XM Radio American Channel named his record “Strikin’ Matches” the top album of the year.

Concerts: Kimes tours around the world and has enjoyed many number one International hits. His audiences have ranged from a room of 50 to concert arenas of 35,000 and all age groups. He promotes a sold out concert and trail ride in the Boston Mountains each year raising money for the “Back Packs for Children Program", which covers Western Arkansas and Eastern Oklahoma.

Television: Kimes film “Dixie Burns” a thirty minute musical starring Royal Wade Kimes about a Southern Commander trying to get home after the war won critical acclaim. It garnered Best Overall Performance for Kimes, and the film was given an award for outstanding Small Screen Film. Kimes has had numerous top videos “Cold Country, Another Man’s Sky, and 500 Miles” and his 2016 video release “Healer of Hearts” has soared to the top of YouTube’s hot count.

Record: Shadows Of Time was named Traditional Country Album of the year by Roots Music Commission Board for 2016.

Media: Kimes appeared on the front cover of True West Magazine, the only recording artist to do so in its history. It was after that story in True West Magazine, and James Arness reaching out to Kimes, industry leaders and fans alike began to call him “The Gentleman Outlaw.”

Magazines Country Weekly, Nuts About Country and many others have featured Kimes. He has appeared on the Grand Old Opry and many more venues of that nature.
