Royal Veterinary College Boat Club

The Royal Veterinary College Boat Club (RVCBC) (informally known as "Vets" or "Royal Vets") is a mixed university rowing club associated with the Royal Veterinary College and made up of students studying veterinary-related sciences. It is based in Gunnersbury at the University of London Boat Club boathouse and is a part of the United Hospitals Boat Club (UHBC).[1] RVCBC caters to both amateur and experienced rowers, and rows in United Hospitals Boat Club, University of London Boat Club and British Rowing events at varying competition levels. It is open to both undergraduate and postgraduate students, and also has a large social contingent.

The club colours are green, white, and black, and the RVCBC insignia is the Royal Veterinary College crest with two oars crossed behind it. The club uses green blades (either solid colour or with two white vertical stripes).

The club rows on the Tideway, a section of the River Thames between Putney and Richmond.

RVCBC has now won 'blades' at the United Hospitals' Bumps Race five times in its recent history (since 2008); this has occurred in 2010 and 2012 (won the novice women's eight), in 2011 (by the senior women's eight—the blade currently hangs in The Haxby, the student union bar at the university's Camden campus), and two blades were won in 2016 by both the senior and novice women's crews, making it RVCBC's most successful year yet.
