Rod Seib (born 16 January 1960} is an Australian professional rugby union coach,[2] and a former player for Queensland Reds, Glasgow Warriors and Aberdeen GSFP.[3][4][5]

Amateur career

Signing in 2001,[6] Seib played for Aberdeen GSFP.[7][8][9] He later captained the Aberdeen side,[10] from 2002-06.[11] He was made Head Coach of Aberdeen in 2011.[1]

He was also included in Aberdeen's Sevens squad.[12]

Professional career

In season 2002-03 he was called up to Glasgow Warriors back up squad.[13][14]

Such was his form for club side Aberdeen GSFP,[15][16][17] there was much talk of Seib's move to the provincial Glasgow Warriors side being made permanent.[18] However, Seib's work commitments prevented him joining Glasgow Warriors full-time.[19] He did win the Player's player of the year for the BT Premiership in 2003-04.[20]

He played in Glasgow Warriors match against Harlequins in 9 August 2002.[21]

He played 3 times for Queensland Reds.[22]

International career

He was capped by the Australia 7s side.[22]

Coaching career

From 2012 he coached Sunnybank Rugby.[23] He later became an Assistant Coach at Brisbane City,[24] with responsibility for the team's attack.[25] In 2016 he was promoted to Brisbane City's Head Coach.[26][27][28]

Outside rugby

Away from rugby, Seib was a physical education teacher. While in Aberdeen he taught at Bridge of Don Academy.[29]
