Richard Briggs

Richard Briggs (born 1952) is a Republican member of the Tennessee Senate representing the 7th district, which encompasses part of Knox County.^[1]

Biography

Early life

Richard Briggs was born on December 7, 1952.^[1] He attended University of Kentucky, where he received his M.D.^[1] He served in the Army and retired with the rank of Colonel.^[1]

Career

He was elected to the 109th General Assembly. He is 2nd Vice Chair of the Senate State and Local Government Committee. He serves as a member of the Senate Health and Welfare Committee.^[1]

Personal life

He is married to Stephanie Briggs.^[1] He is a Methodist.^[1]
