A double referendum was held in Rhodesia on 20 June 1969.^[1] Voters were asked whether they approved of a new constitution and the declaration of a republic.^[1] Both proposals were approved by voters.^[1] The country was subsequently declared a republic on 2 March 1970.^[2]
