Not to be confused with the fictional term 'Zombie Apocalypse', or the 2012 film of the same name. For Army recruiting, see REDCON.

Redcon-1 (working title: Zombie Apocalypse) is an upcoming 2017 action horror film starring former WWE and TNA Wrestling star Katarina Waters, martial artist Mark Strange (The Medallion, Batman Begins), and Carlos Gallardo (Planet Terror).[1] The film is produced by Kevin Eastman, who is best known for having co-created the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise.[2]

Redcon-1 concerns the joint effort of eight military personnel, trying to save a scientist from the clutches of death during a mass zombie outbreak. Unlike traditional zombies, these zombies can also somehow fight back.[3] Redcon-1 will be the first movie director Chee Keong Cheung has shot in nearly a decade for his Intense Productions company.[4]

Plot

A squad of eight Special Forces soldiers are assigned a suicide mission to rescue a scientist from a city ruled by the undead.[5]

Cast

Filming

The film has been shot in locations throughout both Scotland (Newtongrange, Glasgow, and Ayrshire)[7] and England (Brownsover etc.).[8] Filming wrapped in late October 2016, with an aim for an early 2017 release. Many locals in various UK based cities answered casting calls to be extras, portraying the infected, the troops, gang members, and various other survivors. English amputee Olivia Story[9] made her film debut as a zombie, alongside her father, who introduced her to acting.[10] The film is now in post-production, and will be distributed by Epic Pictures in 2017.[11]
