Rebecca Holden (born June 12, 1958 in Dallas, Texas) is an American actress and singer.
Early life and education
In college, Holden was a music major, focusing on voice and minoring in piano.[1] She was discovered in New York City by an agency.[1]
Career
Holden started appearing on magazine covers and did commercials for such companies and brands as Breck Shampoo, Ivory Soap, Dentyne, Kellogg's, Chevrolet, Gillette, Playtex, Arrid, and 7 Up.[1] She moved to Hollywood where her first appearance on television was a guest spot on Three's Company. She made guest appearances on other shows such as Barney Miller until 1983 that she got her big break starring on the 1982 TV series Knight Rider as supporting character April Curtis during the show's second season (1983–1984).[2]
After Holden left Knight Rider, she appeared in movies and had more guest appearances on TV shows, including The Love Boat, Magnum, P.I., Matt Houston, Cheers, Night Court, Taxi, Remington Steele, Quincy, M.E., and T.J. Hooker.[1] She portrayed Elena Cosgrove on the soap opera General Hospital in 1987.
Holden charted two singles for TRA-Star Records in 1989: "The Truth Doesn't Always Rhyme" and "License to Steal". She recorded the album The Highway Runs Both Ways for Curb Records and a self-titled album for BMG Europe.[3]
She was co-host of the short-lived TNN dance show Dancin' at the Hot Spots in 1993. She continued to tour the globe with her music, and serve as an emcee and performer for various charitable and corporate events as well as for military and veterans affairs.
In 2009, Holden portrayed the character Beth in the movie adaptation of The Book of Ruth: Journey of Faith.[4]
In 2013, she released a new single, "Dreams Come True". A duet of the song was recorded in August 2014 with Tony LeBron and produced by Rudy Perez of BullsEye Studios in Miami. The album was released on Silver Blue / Summit Records.
